HEAD COACH: Chad Aldrich Email: Chad_Aldrich@roundrockisd.org
Coach A started his career as the men’s varsity soccer assistant at Pflugerville High School in 2005. After four years, he accepted the head men’s job at Vandegrift High School when they first opened in 2009 with freshmen and sophomores. The program built was heavily focused on character building, technical skill, and family-oriented atmosphere which has led to much of the success surrounding Vandegrift men’s soccer program from 2009 to 2016.
The first senior class (class of 2012) team finished as 5-Time Champions including 51-AAAA District Champions, Regional Quarter-Final Champions, and finished inside the Top 16 in Texas soccer. Since then, every senior class under his coaching career has been either ranked or finished in the Top 16 in Texas Soccer division. With 5 male senior classes, his teams were District Champions twice and runner-up the other three times. He has three Coach of the Year honors and has several of his players competing at the college level in Texas, Florida, California, Washington, Illinois, and New York.
Chad would train high school females during the summer months in various elite level camps as well as private soccer sessions of guys and girls from ages 7 to 12 during the high school year. When accepting the head girls’ position at Round Rock in 2017, it allowed a complete transition in full time training females year round.
As the head girls soccer coach at Round Rock the past two years, the team has several school records in best finish, state rankings, national rankings, scoring, and defending. The combined two years has produced a record of 39 wins, 7 loses, 5 draws; while finishing both seasons in the top 16 in state and as high as top 8 in state with 152 goals scored and 27 against.
Balancing between coaching and family, Chad has the world in his hands with his beautiful family; wife Rhina, son Chase (9), and daughter Mia (3).
